The RAAF in 2008 June flew its last ever legacy Boeing 707 flight and i was able to be at Richmond Air Force base for this wonderful and memorable last flight. The 707 was follwed around by a RAAF Bae Hawk 127 trainer as a photo jet chase plane. Also during the day we saw a USAF KC-10A Extender take off.
The final landing of the 707 was smokey and noisy and brought to another end a period of “classic” and legacy aircraft once used by the ADF. In the last few years the names of Caribou, Winjeels, AirTrainer, Huey and 707 have now disappeared from their Order of Battle plans.
